Post by Tiny Human FerretHowever, the Spanish-speaking countries in the Western Hemisphere have
their own cultural betes-noirs and as regards taste, perhaps you would
care to explain the popularity of the narcocorridas musical stylings?
First of all, taste is highly subjective, and you can not say for
certain a style is for sure good or bad taste because yep, so much is
in the eyes of the beholder. And that is in everything in life and is
just proves to be so true in so many subtle levels. And many things you
don't understand until you see or even live the experience and
emotions from which it is created in the first place. Now even though
narcocorridas may statistically be heard a lot in Mexico (although its
mostly northern mexico) you can not go and claim that Mexicans have bad
taste in music. It would just be bigotry even if that was the only
music Mexicans heard. Now even more when you realize that corridas are
not the only music that is heard a lot. Also salsa, cumbia, latin pop
and rock is heard by a lot of people. Now if you want to get into the
Mexican underground scene you find some amazing people and great
musicians that few people are even aware of it. Like go to the plaza in
the port of Veracruz and listen to some of the Danzon they play live in
the plaza sometimes, or watch those people dance. Or recently the
electronic music scene has really picked up in Mexico and there are all
kinds of world class acts coming out.
But now to claim that good taste is beyond the realm of Mexicans or any
other nationality/country is preposterous and a statement so dumb that
only real airheads will actually say it and actually believe it. I mean
not only is taste very subjective, but its such a broad term covering
music, art, food, architecture, literature, love, etc that even from a
statistical point of view is just midless nonsense.
And even within categories that have statistically patterns you have to
be respectful to the minorties that fall outside this majority if you
are going to make a negative comment, that is if you want to exercise a
bit of respect. Anyhow, the hillbilly H. reader has in past posts gone
as far as to claim derranged nonsense such as that every single
American is superior to all and every Mexican. All while he also tells
me he is not a dumb ignorant redneck. I mean you tell me, is the guy
just stupid or does he indeed have some psychotic mental disorder like
Juan claims? Now like usual is tucking his hillbily tale and retreating
on the basis that he does't have any time for a parasite like me. I
thought everything was hilarious, the guy needs to get it straight. Am
I being to hard on this guy ferret? I take it you take some pitty on
him.

This is when you prove Juan right, I am not even going to explain why
if this is the best you can do.
Post by Tiny Human FerretAs to Mexican cooking, I do happen to like that quite a lot and in my opinion
that would be, statistically, good taste.
Well perhaps you should visit Mexico one day and go eat some mole negro
in Oaxaca. Highly recommended, plus maybe visiting Mexico will take a
lot of preconcived ideas you have about them stincking Mexican
invadores. Ofcourse, its all in the eye of the beholder. That guy Don
Garbache lived I don't know how many years and comes up with the
dumbest most unsubstantiated claims about Mexico. And Zerge corrects
him in just about every sentence, and it pisses him off so bad even
though Zerge usually has the courtesy to do it in a polite manner.
Anywyas..

I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a

Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not
